Michael Silvey became the Pastor of Central in February 2023. He previously served as the Pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Blytheville, AR, and has pastored several churches in Arkansas and Tennessee. Michael graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from Central Baptist College at Conway, Arkansas in 1990.

While at Central Baptist College, Michael met his wife, Lori, and they married in 1989. Michael and Lori have been blessed with two sons, Tyler and Caleb. Tyler and his wife Kayla live in Nashville, TN and Caleb lives in Jonesboro, AR. In 2020, Michael and Lori welcomed the arrival of their first granddaughter, and Papa and Mimi can’t wait for more.

Michael earned a Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in 1995, and later returned to Mid-America in 2016 to enter the PhD. program. Michael earned his Doctorate in December of 2019.

Michael loves history, old books, landscape painting, and any sport that involves a bouncing ball. He is most relaxed on the golf course and would love to travel to Europe and Israel one day to see all the famous historical sites. Most of all, he loves the Lord and seeks to follow Him humbly and faithfully. Michael is grateful the Lord has called him back to Central, the church where he first began to grow into the minister he is today.
